I navigated the internet sea to visit many websites, seeking for some references to background images for my own home page, but most of them I had visited seemed to appeal to the Western emotion only, which I, an Oriental man, was unsatisfied with.
After all, I decided to look for things peculiar to Korea and proper for our own cultural emotion, which led me to the Yongin Folk Village to seek Korean traditional culture.
As a result, I called at every corner of the folk village to take lots of pictures.
I often had to dust off wooden floors of old noble houses in order to take some pictures of Korean cultural heritage.
It occurred that two girls looked at me with their doubtful eyes when a strange elderly man with a camera, I was dusting off an old traditional house.
I found out that most of folk things consist of yellow straw materials, which reminded me of the so-called ``Straw Culture.''
Therefore, there seemed to be no other colors than yellow.
I have had many difficulties in finding out photo objectives that were not made of yellow straws. Thus I finally made a separate page, which I am very glad to introduce to you now.

홈 페이지를 만들면서 인터넷 웹사이트 곳곳을 누비며 background image들을 찾아 헤매어 보았지만 거의 모두가 서구인의 정서에만 맞는 것들 뿐인 것 같아 불만이었다가 마침내 제 나름대로 한국적인, 우리 정서에 맞는걸 찾아 보기로 했습니다.
순수한 우리것을 추구 하다보니 자연히 민속적인 소재에서 찾게 되었고 그 결과로 용인 민속촌의 구석구석을 누비며 촬영에 몰두 했지요.
젊지않은 한 카메라맨이 먼지를 쓸어 내기위해 빗질까지 하면서 양반집 정자 마루바닥을 촬영하는 걸 옆에서 보고 있던 두 처녀는 고개를 갸웃둥하면서 이상하다는 눈빛으로 자꾸 쳐다 보더군요.
토속적인 것 이라면 거의 모두가 짚이어서 다시 한 번 <볏짚문화>란 말을 실감할수 있더군요.
이러다 보니 모두가 노란색 계통이라서 볏집소재가 아닌 것을 찾기 위해 고심하기도 했어요.
그리고 배경인 만큼 너무 뚜렸한 영상보다 좀 단순하고 약간 흐린 영상이 요구돼 약간의 변형 혹은 변색작업을 거쳐야 했고 평소 만들어 놨던 색상 조합의 image도 합쳐 일부러 별도의 페이지까지 만들어 소개해 봅니다.
많은 애용 바라며 또 방문 자취를 꼭 남겨 주시기 바랍니다.
